Day 4.......
Em well best laid plans. We were going to some de janeiro version of nardinis, got there and it was closed so we went to Starbucks. Emi and Jamon had a caramel machiato and a cappuccino. Or at least that's what the girl wrote on the cups. When we came out nardinis was open so in we trotted and it was awesome.
We went to see the tiles steps after this, this was an accidental find. These were dodgy it was clear that walking up them is a no go so we took some pics at the bottom and left sharply.
Then we were going to see the big JC but the station was closed so we read the bus timetable and hopped on. Note to self, don't do that again. We ended up at the end of the line at a bus depot in a favela haven driven through about three of them. On this lovely sightseeing trip we saw a man having a sleep on a mattress by the road.......
Rio is pretty bogging, their are piles and piles of litter everywhere and people seem to think it's fine to pee in the street. You see quite a lot of people rummaging through the rubbish, it's pretty sad.
When we finally made it back to civilisation we jumped in a taxi asked for Corcovado and were at the team station in about 4 minutes. Anyway, we live and learn. Got to the top, took pics in the daylight, waited for the sun to set and took more. Not easy to get an exclusive shot up there as it was jam packed.
By this time we were bogging too, so headed back to the hotel for a wash, then out to a boteco for dinner. Steak, couscous, red wine, happy Wednesday.
