4th-DAY 1 Last night didn't turn out to be as expected seeing as Powell managed to convince some of us to go out to Szimpla Bar that he'd had his heart set on since getting here. Here you could really tell the difference between this holiday and Zante seeing as instead of selling laughing gas, there were girls selling us raw carrots.
We had probably our longest train journey out of the lot to get to Ljubljana/eljubblyjana, nine hours in 30 odd degree heat. It was made more comfortable when we realised you could pull the seats out to make beds which only took us about four hours to realise. Powell had his colouring book anyway so we were all entertained during the journey at least, even more so when Frank started lobbing Powell's felt-tips out the window and there was the occasional laugh when Gangrel fell asleep with his eyes open. When we finally entered Slovenia we spent a good few hours with our heads out the train windows saying how nice it looked over and over again, it really was nice though.
5th-DAY 2 We decided to go to Lake Bled today because Markclare, leader of men, said there was going to be a thunderstorm on Friday. It rained anyway, typical. Regardless of the weather it was DEAD nice. Legit though it was boss, there were diving boards and floating platforms that you could swim out to with the Karavanke mountains and the Alps in the background. We got a few boats out and some kayaks so we could row out to Bled castle which was a nightmare because none of us were coordinated enough to row in a straight line so we ended up slaloming across to the island, in the middle of a thunderstorm. Me, Pilks, Sean and Jord had finally got the hang of the kayaks so decided to try and splash the others which just ended up in most of us being soaked for the rest of the day. Instead of waiting and getting the coach back to the hostel we thought we could split a couple cabs and get home faster. It turned out there was only an 8 seater minibus to which the driver said "all of you, or none". So, of course we all piled in with Sam, Frank and Fallon getting in the boot and Call Me Maybe being blasted on full volume with us all laughing thinking why on earth are we in Slovenia?
The hostel has some footy pitches outside so Sam ended up dragging me and Jordan out to ask a few lads if they wanted a game, they turned us down because they "had to leave soon". They regretted that when they were still there an hour later and asking us to play when everyone else came down to play, one by one, as well as Ken from Vancouver, Bernard from France and Copane from Malaysia; Copane skinned Green who fell on his face and then went on to slot it (Green still denies he got had off).
We didn't know what to expect for a night out here seeing as Maghull is genuinely busier. We all ended up wearing shirts, mostly by coincidence, for "shirt night". Gangrel didn't wear his shirt for the first time since he bought it because it's turned orange now so borrowed Jordan's because it's a size too small for him like the rest of his clothes. We walked for about half an hour and stopped at one place before somehow finding this amazing rooftop bar at a place called Nebotičnik Skyscraper where we were the only people there. We finished the night in a place called Parliament Bar which was the only busy place in all of Slovenia and it turned out to be boss. All in all, Shirt Night was a good night until Sean thought it'd be a good idea to give me a piggyback and fell under my weight.
6th-DAY 3 Today's been chill day so we've just watched the thunderstorm and played table tennis all day. Frank's gone out to get 25 double cheese burgers or "Mc Doublays" for everyone, five of which are for Sam which speaks for itself. Me, Powell, Markclare, Scott and Fallon went out for food for tomorrow's train journey and have ended up in a restaurant having our first meal that isn't a Maccies or a pizza since getting here. We had another game of footy a bit later with Frank getting the golden boot due to him shamelessly goal-hanging. Not going out tonight because we've got a 9:00am train tomorrow to Bratislava. Can't wait.
