Ok so New York Day 2 was just as great as the first. We had a great sleep in watching american movies in bed (sleep in wasnt actually as long as it felt like because we were awake at 5 up at 10.) Then we headed out taking a walk through central park aagin to museum mile. We stopped off at the Guggenheim and the Met...but both were more expensive than our interest level so we just took photos outside. The Guggenheim looks cool even though its under reconstruction. We kept going down fifth to try and find Bloomingdales. YAY even though its just an ordinary department store...its bloomingdales so I (if not ben) was quite excited. We also spent some considerable time in Tiffanys which is AMAZING. So many floors of the nicest jewellery ever. Ben also spent forever i nike town which is pretty cool too. OMG you cannot believe how hard it is to find travel adaptors...oh we have sold out they all say. But none of them even know what they are (oh so u have different plugs to us?) Yeah you dumb s***. But finally we found one in a side shop...and it worked so that was luckily. Totally believing the rumour that only 20% of americans have passports. Anyways that aside everyone has been soo friendly to us.
We did some more shopping down 5th avenue and madison avenue and then we hit the empire state building. Lots of security but hey its better than not i guess. We stayed up there til the sun set so that we could get nice pictures....but my camera went all crap and you cant even see much with the night pictures. Sooo pretty up there though. We have had some pretty nice weather since we have been here...and the morning news has been declaring it a winter heat wave. Haha so funny. Still its a comfortable 10 degrees plus.
It seems like we didnt do all that much yesterday as I write it down...but we really did. Lots and lots of walking and shopping and waiting in empire queue.
Loving the NY vibe too - we decided to get pizza for dinner and met this cool dude who was impressed we were aussie. He told us its the best pizza place in ny - was too. I made a d*** of myself cos i ordered the pizza and the guy behind the counter asked me if i wanted a whole pie. I was like oh no i want pizza not pie. 3 more attempts by him later and i worked out that he sells slices of pizza...or the whole pizza which is a pie. It was so embarrassing. Plus the guy had this hell strong bronx accent which made it harder.
Off to the statue of liberty today which is exciting...bit behind time and we had to extend our stay at the hostel which was hard work. Plus my hair straightener died which is killing me....but hey might get a new one in macys...then i get the bag you know.
Ok internet time is running out....write again soon.
Email us with all the news.
