Hello everyone (that actually reads this),
So yeah we havent done any updating for the majority of the europe leg of the trip...but hey there is still time. We are however going to TRY and keep it up to date over here in the US of A.
So we left the uk...so so sad after spending hours and hours trying to fit everything into our packs. Totally under the weight restriction but just no no room for anything. Flight was great except when we got on the plane there was an AC failure so we were freaking hot. The captain kept apologising but omg...everyone was getting sweaty it was that hot. Didnt give us much confidence in the plane (of course we were delayed for some reason too and AC even though fixed couldnt be turned on until the engines started running...which couldnt be done til it was fixed.) But we got there...good movies, no terrorists. All was great...touch wood for next flights.
New York City is AMAZING. Ok so we knew it would be...but it really really is. We are in this little hostel on the upper west side of manhatten. Not really in the centre of the action but only a short subway ride away or a shortish walk. We are right next to central park though which is cool...its weird when we first arrived even though none of us had been there the whole place seemed so familiar to us. Except for the MASSIVE immigration queue...and they had people employed there just to freak us out as well. If you get ONE thing wrong on your landing card you could be sent home yardyyarda. But we were ok and after fingerprinting us and a mug shot we were on our way.
Back to New York....great hostel and they upgraded us a room no idea why. But we love it cos its big and has a tv...good old american crap to watch. Love it though.
We spent the first day just strolling really...we walked through central park a bit to get to midtown. Saw them all iceskating and that jazz. OMG and the squirrels are just sooo cute. Could spend hours taking photos of them They are just everywhere. Then we walked up 5th avenue looking at the shops...spent forever in the NBA store which is like woah. Ben was in heaven...sure rob you would have spent awhile there. Both our hands are minature compared to shaqs anyway. Bought ourselves some NBA tickets...wednesday night, madison square garden, ny knicks vs houston rockets WOOOHOOOOOOO. We are gonna see that giant aisan guy too yay. Everyone with foxtel or sky...make sure you are watching. We have nosebleed seats...but YAYAYAYAYAYAY. Reasonably cheap too.
Then we headed up further passing the trump tower...omg to the rockefeller centre to see my tree. Woah what a great tree it was. haha and i learnt something at the garden centre because i know what type of tree it was. NORWAY SPRUCE. Go me. Then we kept walking the city basically (havent even ventured downtown yet...today we will though) - went to the UN but it was closed cos of the weekend. So we will do that later. Saw grand central station and chysler building...sooo much. Basically we just love it...and it feels like we have seen it all before from too many movies and sex and the city. Sooo good in real life though.
Off to empire today...not sure what else. Dad msg me the name of the hotel again cos ive forgotten.
Anyways hope everyone is great wherever in the world you are.
Lots of love Ben and Fi xoxo
p.s remember, wednesday, watch it.
