From Bangkok To LA
Well what have we been up to
We went to Sentosa Island, and to get there we had to got on a cable car which was quite fun, and Frank was pooing himself the whole way!! We arrived at the island and we decided to go to Underwater world, it didn't look far on the map so we walked. It was through a sort of Jungle and I was so scared about what the next sign was going to say, as they were nearly all signs about snakes, and each snake got bloody bigger!!
We arrived at Underwater world, which looked pretty cool from the outside, as they had some turtles. We went in , and there were some pretty cool fish, we looked around and there was a conveyorbelt which you stood on and it took you round the aquarium and there were some huge fish and some sharks. Once we'd finished that we went to go onto the next bit....however that was it!We were only there for about 30 mins and we'd seen everything.
Anyway, we got to go to the dolphin lagoon as well which was on the otherside of the island, so we walked along the beach to get there. The beach was quite pretty and the sea was so clean and warm. On the way there we saw a thing called a Luge. We had to get a ski lift up to the top of the hill, and then it was like a go-cart thing which you had to get on to come down. It was so fun, and we went well fast, until I got stuck behind a lady and her kid, managed to catch Frank up and win though hehe!!
We carried on walking to we got to the Dolphin Lagoon. The Dolphins were really cool as they were pink dolphins, they weren't all bright pink, but they had pink bellies and there bodies were turning pink. The show was quite good, they were quite a lot smaller than other dolphins but they were still cool.
We then got back on the cable car which Frank was dreading and then we went to Orchard Road. We managed to get a free beer which is always good and we booked the DaVinci Code at the cinema. Orchard Road was really nice, loads of places to go shopping!!
The next day we went to see the film, it was really good (the bits I understood anyway), Frank thought it was wicked but he understood it all so thats probably why!!
We were going to the night Safari in the evening which i couldn't wait for. It was so good, our favourites were the fishing cats, servals-they can jump really high, and the flying squirrels. Where the flying squirrels were you had to walk through the enclosure, and i thought one was going to land on my head, but luckily he landed on the tree about 1metre away from my head!!
We also saw a show which was really good, they had some racoons that knocked over a bin, and then the otters came on and they put the plastic bottles, paper and cans into the right recycling boxes, pretty clever!!
There were loads of animals to see and it was really good, however we couldn't take any photos as we weren't allowed to use the flash on the camera!!
When we were walking around, the paths were pitch black, it was well scary! The train went past and it scared the crap out of us as we thought it was an animal!!
There were also some tribal dances going on, and they were eating fire and blowing fire which was pretty cool!
The next day, we went to Chinatown, we were wondering around for a while, and then we saw a restaurant that served crispy duck. It was pretty cheap so we decided to try it out. Rather than just having all the duck with pancakes, they give you a bit, and then take it away and cook it in a sauce, I wasn't happy, it was still nice, but you know how I love my duck!! We then got the bill, and they had charged us for absolutely everything, even the bloody napkins!!Also, when we sat down they brought us some peanuts, so we ate them as we thought they were free- but no, they charged us for that aswell!!They also put about 15% service charge on ,and then on the bill there was a bit that said tip amount-definately left that blank!!
In the evening we went to Clarke/boat Quay which is really nice, especially at night as all the boats are lit up. We went to a really nice restaurant, but neither of us wanted to use the napkins as we knew that they would charge us!!It was a really nice meal and a good way to finish in Singapore.
Today we are going to Australia, hopefully it will be slightly cooler than here and Thailand!!We've forgotten how it feels to be cold hehe
