Fordy On Tour
Bula!!
That's hello in Fijian, plus it pretty much means everything else too!
Got to Fiji at 4.30am and got shown to my dorm where i managed to wake everyone up, don't think they were very happy but i was gone by the time they woke up so all was good!
Did lots of things on the feejee experience, went to a market, been to a secluded beach, wore a sarong to a village, went sandboarding where i managed to fly face down into the sand!! had some locals come sing for us at our hostel, went on a 2 hour trek through a rain forest, jumped off a waterfall, went river tubing, had some sugar cane, got really drunk, saw some crab racing, went bili bili rafting, went to a mudpool and such an ace time! participated in a few Kava ceremonies which fijians love doing, they basically drink loads of this weird looking liquid that is supposed to be narcotic. didn't do anything to me but we only had a few drinks each. also went to an orpanage which was a big eye opener seeing all the kids and how they lived. they all loved the attentiona dn loved being picked up, i had one kid in my arms called Sala and all or a sudden he did the loudest fart ever, everyone just burst out laughing, i put him straight down!!
On the first night we stayed round the corner from where they're filming love island, it's just on a beach and not an island at all!
On our 3rd night we stayed at a place called Volivoli beach, it's such a beautiful place and saw so many stars at night, even saw 4 shooting stars!
After the 4 day tour had finished i stayed with Kerry, Ray and Neil all from Manchester area, we went to Robinson Crusoe Island where we did some handfishing, only Ray caught a fish though, he accidently poked it's eye out when unhooking it, haha! i went snorkelling and had a quality time seeing the sealife. In the afternoon some of the locals walked on fire and did some fire dancing.
After they'd gone i had a day on my own so decided to go to South Sea Island and Bounty Island (where they filmed love island last year) They were so small, i walked round them in 5 and 15 minutes! Had unlimited BBQ and beer on south sea island so i made sure i had my money's worth!
also did a trip on a glass bottom boat.
Everyone in Fiji is so friendly, they always stand on the side of the road and wave to you as you go passed on the bus!
If you're a strict vegetarian i suggest you don't read on, if you don't care then read cos it's funny.....!
.......when we were doing our trek and river tubing we had a small gap inbetween while we waited for some people to finish their trek, we were by the river side when 4 cows all started charging at us, was pretty scary at first until the fijians chased them away with their weapons, we all thought that was the end of it but the fijians carried on chasing them and the cows ran into the river, 3 of the cows made it to the other side (i didn't know cows could swim, or it must have been shallow water!) but the last cow got caught by the fijians who jumped on it and drowned it there and then in the river, it was such a sight to see but funny at the same time! they then got a boat and dragged the cow into it and they just sped off with the cow....!!
