I'm writing this entry well behind time, having basically been out of touch with everyone and anyone since my return from Manado in August ( if not before).
Almost every waking moment has been focused on the 1 December implementation date of the new Biosecurity Act , finalizing the regs, databases, processes, the online training and the workshops. We could write a book about it, particularly if we were to borrow significantly from 'Yes Minister' - 'nuff said!
I hit the road on 17th September to run workshops with all relevant staff re their role under the new Act - no matter where I go, there are always good people to catch up with.
Part 1 was south east & south west - Northam, Merredin, Eucla, Esperance, Bunbury, Narrogin and Albany
Part 2 was the programs in the metropolitan region - Quarantine WA, European House Borer, then Invasive Species, Livestock and Plant Biosecurity.
Having made it through both the above parts, the northern regions are next, and then leave as of 10 December (not that I'm counting!!)
