And we jumped into the South Island!

This is a race against time over here!! We took the boat into Picton and were surprised with lots of rain... Went to Nelson, more rain so we couldn't see much but the way from Picton to Nelson was worth it! The south island is so different from the north... breathtaking mountains with beautiful orange and yellow Autumn colors and never ending vineyards...

So, raining in Nelson... We decided to quickly move off to Kaikoura and for me it was the most amazing place I've been in New Zealand... Incredible beach with a really small town and stunning mountains with snow as a background... On the way beautiful beaches and seals!

We stayed there only for 2 days but we saw whales!!! and dolphins and seals and huge seagulls (alcatraz).

And the race keeps on...

From here last destination... Christchurch! And we were shocked as we got there! It was hugely hit by 2 big earthquakes, one in 2010 and the last one on Feb 2011... The whole centre was shut off... It seemed like a phantom city... It is surrounded and no one can enter so you look in and its only empty streets, houses and building falling and others being demolished.. very very impressive...

We went to their beautiful park and got a ride from a friend of a friend of a friend of Adeline to the beachside and a nice historic town close by.

Right now we are back in Auckland in our friend Eli's house (who just had a baby!) and relaxing on own last day in New Zealand before we move off to Australia!
