So... Back where it all begun - Bogota! 2600mt above sea level and with the same population of Portugal, 10 million inhabitants !
An amazing capital full of life and completely different barrios, from posh rich north area to the strange Santa Fe barrio where we should not even pass by.
During our last day in San Gil we visited the beautiful waterfalls of 180mt (can't remember the name right now but something with Curi) and then hoped on a bus for a 8h ride (from now on I'm Phil the queen of the buses!!) to Bogota.
Today we visited the amazing salt cathedral sculpted in an old salt mine 40mn from bogota. 180mt down into the earth and can take around 8000 people. An amazing 2km walk to see the 1st maravilla of Colombia and the 8th of the world.
After taking bus and bus we came back and made it just in time fir the museo del oro, the most complete gold museum in Colombia. An amazing collection and history lesson on the Colombian gold and its tribes. Incredible sculpted pieces of gold, with detailed drawings and stunning beliefs. Highly recommended and worth going there.
