Started out this morning, and realized that people in the UP do not move before 10ish! There were no people out & about as we left. We were looking forward to stopping at the Jam Pot, which is a bakery, where the monks from a local monastery sell fresh baked goods & jams. We could smell the cinnamon in the air, but of course they weren't open for business until 10. Who eats cinnamon rolls that late? Jacob Falls was along side the rode, so we stopped for some pics. Managed to catch both the Eagle Harbor and the Sand Point Lighthouse on 5 mile point road.
Back through Houghton/Hancock on our way to Munising, stopped for breakfast. Back on 41, travelling a little faster than the last day or two (although the car is doing great at 50 mph!). Stopped in Christmas, MI to do a little shopping, major disappointment! Thought it would be a few shops, but it was 1! And nothing else! Oh, except for a casino. We did stop there for a bit, and left them $30 of our money!
Checked in at our motel (after I tried checking in at the wrong motel, which didn't work very well!), then went back into town, did a little souvenir shopping, then got on our boat for the Picture Rocks Tour. This was GREAT! Almost three hours seeing the shore line of Lake Superior. The colors & formations are fabulous. The lake was calm & the ride was good.
Back on dry land, we found supper at a restaurant call Dog Patch. Food was good. Back at the hotel; found a Wi-Fi hot spot, so we got all caught up in our blogging.
Heading to Whitefish Point tomorrow, and ending in Manistique for the night. Will try to get back on line tomorrow evening. Hope you're having as good as a time as we are!
