Lots of driving today. We've travelled 770 miles so far. Spent most of the day sightseeing on Door Peninsula. Beautiful views of Lake Michigan, as well as some very nice tree covered drives. Can only imagine what it would look like in the fall. Not much luck today with lighthouses, but we did find a bowling center in Sister Bay.
Arrived in Escanaba around 4:30 cenbral time. We are now in Eastern Time Zone. Checked in to our home for the night, The Hiawatha Motel. If last night was concerning, this one was almost frightening when we pulled in! However, the actual room is not bad at all. Just original decor from the 70's!.
Drove straight to the Sand Point Lighthouse, pictures included in today's album. It was very pretty, with a beautiful park surrounding it. We've noticed that there are extremely nice parks in these communities.
Found a little diner to eat at, suggested by the hotel manager, called Elmer's Restaurant. Best meal we've had so far! Found the local Bowlarama, and went inside for a quick peak. Got our fix of freshly screened & coated lane smell. I talked with the counter guy, he advised that they had plenty of equipment, if we wanted to bowl! Regretfully, I had to tell him no......

Linda Miller Jack walked in while I was looking at the photos... I made a comment that they had to go to the bowling lanes... he said he was sure.. it would be just like me having to stop at every Christmas shop... What would make him say that...
