On Monday 18th June we all woke up early and made our way over to Jiaxin Xishan Primary School for the Raising of the Flag Ceremony.

The whole of the school were there. We stood on the steps, facing all the school children. There was a band playing music and children marching. One of the Chinese boys pulled a string and the Chinese flag rose up high in the sky.

The ceremony was held in front of the Olympic Rings, to mark the start of the Olympic Games.

It was a wonderful morning and an honour to be part of it.
