Irun to San Sebastián 19km

6:45 woke up
as there is no kitchen in the albergue, had cafe con leche and sweet pastry for breakfast with Florian and Ursina.
8:45 on the camino. the first part is taking a boat to the other side of the port. nice 3 mins ride.
there is an alternative way written in German guide book, so we followed the guidance.
there was another alternative way in the mountain. we took a coastal way. very impressive view of the Atlantic.
12:30 arrived at San Sebastián. there were many people on the beach despite of the weather.
surfer, swimmer, jogger, beach valley ball, etc.
walked around to look for a restaurant. suddenly I heard someone calling my name. it was a couple who I met 2 weeks ago in France! they were here for holiday with their son. it's really a small world!
we had nice menu del dia in the nice small cafe.
they continued to walk another 12km and I stay here as it's still my rehabilitation day. so "buen camino" for now. the left foot look okay today. I could walk in the normal speed and no pain.
alone again, well just for 5 mins. met Karine
they told me that albergue in Irun was full yesterday... I thought of staying in the centre for a while but decided to go to albergue for check in.
15:15 there were already people lining up. it's a university room opened for pilgrims for summer only. there were plenty of beds.
went out for a drink and took a cold shower...:(
18:00 went to city centre with Karine, could use Internet but not wifi in the library. the library staff lets use her phone but I couldn't reach my friend... I hope he got my message...
went to bar for pintos with wine. nice hongos!
walked back to the albergue and my ankle was a bit tired so I went to the bar next door asked for ice. they gave me a bag full of them. iced my ankle for 30mins then to try to sleep with 45 people!
