Sorry this is so boring without photogrqphs. Perhaps we haven't taken enough! Hardly likely.
Spent today visiting a small village about 20 kms away on the Danube. It was both lovely and ghastly because of all the trippers like us! But we were able to find quiet little lanes away from all the other people. Also visited my first Orthodox church. Serbian orthodox. And a museum of alll the vestments and chalices and things from the 17th century onwards.
On the whole we think Hungary is less clean than Poland and Slovakia were. But Budapest is so much bigger than the other places we visited. We are also finding the food much more to our taste - really yummy. especially if you like meat!
Also enjoying the B and B life. We are finding we get so much more info and tips about the places we are visiting. Budapest is a very elegant city. Don'zt know if I mentioned that I found Warsaw quite puzzling. The city I had in my mind's eye would have been Schindler's list kind of city, and seeing alll the happy, sunny young people about clearly enjoying life was quite confusing for me. Don't know which perspective will stick with me now.
Budapest is La Belle Epoque for me! It has been very warm, so we look forward to the temps dropping a bit tomorrow as they are supposed to do. We're doing great things with our "washing line" in our bathrooms and the disposable underwear is first class! We would recommend it!
Better sign off before I twitter on too much more. Thank you for your messages to us, too!!
Night night from Budapest.
