We met for breakfast before heading to Stevenson College for some lectures. The first lecture was about how to get a job in Scotland, it was presented by a man named Dave McKay. He was form the Highlands of Scotland, and had a very strong accent to match! Our next presentation was from two women from Robert Half International, and employment agency in Scotland. They explained the most effective ways of obtaining and keeping a job. Most of the presentation was about how to obtain your CV, which is their word for a resume.
After the lectures Mrs. Burton and I went to a place called Frankenstein's for lunch. The restaurant was decorated like it was Halloween. After we raced down the Royal Mile to see the Parliament we met up with the other students and toured the new Parliament building. To be honest, I'm not too fond of the building; it is very out of place. The other buildings are old, historic, and the building really sticks out like a sore thumb. We took a guided tour through the Parliament, and the guide explained the construction of the building and some key aspects of the modern building. I have to admit, I was looking forward to seeing the Parliament, but I was a little disappointed.
