Next and final stop before we arrived in London was New York City. We arrived at the hostel at night on the 18th April and immediately set off for Times Square. Walking the 5/10 minutes from our hostel to Times Square was a pretty surreal experience. Everywhere you are surrounded by huge skyscrapers and the roads and footpaths are in a constant source of craziness. Times Square is just as crazy with lights, people and sounds everywhere so that you never know where to look. We had a week in New York so bought a 3-day ticket for the hop-on, hop-off tour. The tour was really worth while as I don't know if we would have seen everything otherwise. Highlights would have to be visiting the top of the Rockefeller Centre at night, going to a Broadway show (Million Dollar Quartet), walking around Greenwich Village, the Statue of Liberty, the UN Headquarters and the toy stores for Ellen. We were both pretty shattered after New York as there is so much to see and do that we were constantly on our feet visiting places. I think we both saw everything we wanted to though so a pretty surreal, fun and busy week.
