SO. Day, um I think, seven. YES. Still at the hostel, but hopefully moving in to my new apartment by the end of the week. Classes start next monday, so I'm pretty excited about that. Sydney Uni (as they call it) is BEAUTIFUL, their main quad kind of makes me think of hogwarts or something. pictures to come as soon as I get into the apartment.
for several reasons, I've decided that Sydney/Australia was actually made just for me. Like, god was like hm. what would shannon like best; a place with hot men, cute small children, lots of beaches, and more indian restaurants than she knows what to do with....okay done. people here are also really laid back/kind of disorganized, which, let's be honest, is SO my style.
The street I am living on totally rules because its full of totally delicious food including but not limited to indian, thai, chinese, sushi, and most importantly TACOS. There's this place down the road called Dancing Fajitas where they have 3 dollar tacos that include a shot of tequila with it, which is kind of amazing. There are also, randomly, a TON of scottish people here who one day were just like "eff this s***ty weather" and came to australia. go fig.
My friend from home Allie is studying here also, so it's been totally sweet hanging out with her. she's already been here a month so she's been showing me around town. Yesterday we went to the botanical gardens and walked around. It's like, sydney's central park, only a million times better.
ALSO you can all tell dave that I am swimming with the Sydney Uni swim club, starting next week. I'm practicing from 5:30-7 every morning which is great, except for the part where the buses dont run that early so i'm going to have to jog the 10 minutes or so it takes me to get to the aquatic center. I could take the shortcut through Victoria park, but according to the orientation team aboriginees mug you there at night. so, pass.....the things I do for swimming.
Hopefully this weekend I'll either be going to the blue mountains or SURF CAMP, whichever one I have more time for.
Fun Fact: a bachelorette party is known as a hen's fest. you guys are all invited to my hen's fest when I get engaged to a smoking australian man.
