These are the ones who got some sleep last night. Sleep deprivation, jet lag, and endless travelling can lead to some pretty tricky moments, but overall everyone has been great. The good-natured trio in this picture represent the spirit of cooperation that has characterised this trip so far.

We all stay close since an uncomfortable moment the other evening when a Chinese man decided to demonstrate some Kung Fu moves outside Macdonald's. When he kept hanging around us as we ate, it would be fair to say our burgers lost their flavour. His strange behaviour is clearly not the norm, however, and the children have since enjoyed some wonderful and intimate moments with our Chinese hosts. It is difficult to explain to children how that sometimes people with mental health problems are let down by society. With such a huge population living so close together, it is inevitable that you will come across such people.

Now that everyone is sound asleep we can get some much needed rest.So, goodnight from Shanghai ...
