Today, has been a really really good day. Nothing special has happened, but I just felt really content and at home here. Always a plus :)
Classes went as normal. The first class as always were horrible; but I now have a 'good' and 'bad' list on the board, if they're on the bad list at the end of the lesson - they get homework! Let's see if that works...!
Second class was good but a little disappointing, out of 7 students... I had 3 of them. Luckily they were the best 3 I could've chosen though, and we had a good lesson. They worked hard for the first hour, so we relaxed in the second and played some games!
Last class was as always, awesome. Whenever I'm teaching this class, i feel SO happy. These guys (and also the guys in tomorrow morning's class) are the reason I'm happy here. They're an absolute JOY to teach. They're totally hilarious, but they;re so intelligent, and know when it's time to work! I told them I only had two more lessons with them today, and one girl Sisi said "your time here is too short teacher!" which made my stomach flip! Saying goodbye is going to be ridiculously hard. So I'm going to make the most out of the last few weeks!
After school finished, I was a bit naughty. Paul said he was going for a KFC.. and I joined him. Oops! I've been so good though, and it had been such a good day, I thought it'd be nice to have a little treat hehe :) Of course we got back to the flat, got changed, stepped out the door to go down the stairs... and we saw it was torrential rain. But that didn't stop us! We simply went back in, and got our umbrellas :D Thank god we did, I've never been out in rain like it! It was CRAAAZY heavy. For anyone that knows my cherry trainers (which are the only other shoes I have here apart form my work ones and heels) they are not best suited for wet weather. Actually, they're completely falling apart and should be binned but I love them. Needless to say, I GOT WET haha. But it was nice warm rain, and there was the reward of the KFC to have! It was paaacked in there, and people were sharing tables with strangers. We were left alone largely... people are fascinated by us, but also kind of scared or intimidated! Suited us just fine haha.
We came back fully satisfied, and decided to watch the sequel to a film we watched the other night from the 80s, called The Gods Must Be Crazy, about this bushman from the Calahari Desert... it was absolute tripe, but the sequel was here at the flat too, so we HAD to watch it. I'm so glad we did, it was brilliant!! Haha we were pleasantly surprised :)
Tried some Green Tea for the first time also... and enjoyed that :) Yum.
Still looking forward to that MONSTER cuppa that Somerset has promised me though...!
They're all back from holiday tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to being in regular contact again :D AND Chris is back... so I have all my favourites in the same country :D Less than 3 weeks till I join them :)
These next 2 weeks are going to ZIP by, I can feel it. And the final week will be crazy with the staff trip - WE'RE GOING TO THE COAST! Oh my gosh, I cannot express how excited I am. I will take ZILLIONS of pictures :D SO yeah, the final week will be crazy with that, and then Thursday and Friday teaching, and then.. I leave.
Madness :) It's been hard the past 6 weeks, and the next 3 will no doubt be the same... but it's been worth every single second, and I don't have an OUNCE of regret.
Hope I'm making you proud Anne :)
