Just a quick update - I have fulfilled what I really wanted out of being a teacher!

A student gave me a hug when she said goodbye to me :) Honestly, I felt like I'd accomplished something HUGE! Cheered me right up and made the last few days seem like nooothing!

It's not a big deal really, but I think if a student is prepared to hug you, it shows that they see you as a person, not some scary figure of authority. I just thought it was SO sweet, and I was just made up by it.

Saturday's last class, and Sunday's first are always my favourite. I think that's a good balance! Got an hour now until my next class, we're talking about The Future, so that'll be fun. I think I'm going to get a few pictures up of what 'the future' will look like. They love the interactive boards, it keeps them entertained for a while. It's all about finding NEW things for them to do. Repeatition is death for classroom teaching. Not so much in our normal schools, but this is seen as a 'fun' language school, so the students have to be able to go home happy! See, i'm getting there ;)

Just had my weekend treat - lunch! Obviously I do usually EAT lunch, but at the weekends I go to the food market and get something tasty. Today I had some sweet seaseme bread, and some more of the spicy fried chicken. Theresa, one of the local teachers, pointed out to Paul and I where she gets her bucket of noodles from though, so we might be trying that out next week! Chicken-lady, as we affectionately call her, will be upset! We're her regulars :) She doesn't speak a word of English, but always gives us the biiiggest smile when she sees us. She must only be like 18 haha. Bless her.

What was meant to be a short blog has dragged on a bit, and I need to plan my lesson, so I best be off! Most likely add more later, so ciao for now :)
