My faith has been restored in the classes! Despite being left terrified to teach again after my criticism, I hope that I've found a balance. Last night's class was alright, but over the course of today I think I've got the hang of it. Do an activity, play a game, do another work-load, play a game... sounds simple enough but boy does it take some creativity to keep these kids entertained!! I asked some of the more established teachers here for help, and they were all really good about it :)
My last class, 3.45-6 were absolute angels. They're my favourite. 6 girls, 2 boys today and they were all just great. There's one small girl called Liz though, who doesn't speak unless she absolutely has to. It's so hard to get her to volunteer information. Because of this, the other kids shun her. They're so eager to show off their knowledge, they resent being put with her as she makes it difficult to progress. But I'm going to take her under my wing and hopefully she'll improve with time :)
I can't believe it's Saturday again, it's been almost a week since Beijing.. WHERE did that go?! Insane. Oh well, I'm definitely still feeling the benefits of being out here. I'm learning more every day, and it's great life experience - no-one can argue that!
I'm going to ask Ivy for some feedback tomorrow, to see if anyone has said anything. If not - I'll take that as a good sign. Let's hope!
We get our summer school schedules tomorrow, apparently this is when we'll be really busy - so I think I'm in for a shock! But it's all good, as long as I can keep on top of the classes, and keep my focus and wits about me - I won't have a problem!!
Ciao for now :)
