Hi there,
Hope everyone at home is ok and managing to restrain themselves from putting up the christmas deccies just yet!! We've finally finished the 'big lap' of Oz and are now back in Sydney staying at Yvonne & Grahams in a real bed :)
We've only got one more job to do before its back to holidaying and thats to sell our precious Ford Falcon Wagon. We've been at Kings Cross carpark (dungeon) for the last couple of days and are going slowly mad. The good news is that anyone who sells their car has to by everyone beer, so we're usually half-cut trying to sell it, probably not the bset idea but theres nothing else to do down there! Hey-Ho!
So, you'll all be very pleased to hear that its raining here in Sydney and has been since we arrived almost a week ago - this is not what it said on the brochure :( But we're staying positive and i'm sure it will be scorching any day now....soon...
Cairns was fabulous. Mike, Sian & Abi visited so we did the proper tourist things and even stayed in a motel for a week right on the Promenade (and it was scorchio). We did a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef and did a bit of scuba diving with Mike. The coral and fish were amazing to see and Brads still raving about the food - best in Queensland according to the guru!!
Then we travelled down the coast to Airlie Beach and went on a sailing trip around the Whitsundays. We stayed on the British Defender for 3 days and Brad even got to sail it (and managed to get us up to 17 knots)!! Met some lovely people and had an absolute ball. Brisbane was good too, a really easy city to get around and the weekend markets were the best.
Byron Bay was next on the hit list, we spent about 3 nights here trying desperatley to top up our tans in the day and visiting all the local pubs in the evenings. It was the most chilled out place we've ever bin, loads of stoned hippies roaming about - Soph & Ian would love it!! :)
As we got further South the weather started turning a bit and so we decided the sesible thing to do was to seek refuge at the Hunter Valley wine reigon for a few days - just to avoid the rain honestly. We found a few very good drops about and don't worry - we've got the shipping details of every single one!!
The Blue Mountains were stunning, the views were amazing - they'll be on the website eventually we promise. And so we arrived in Sydney, 30,000kms and a life times worth of memories later.
Anyhoo, we'd best get back to the job at hand and try again to sell our car or we'll be stuck in the dungeon forever!
Love and hugs to everyone, Missing you all loads Brad & Poll x x x
P.S Sorry Jessy-Bess, still no sign of a hair cut (or even a little trim) yet.
Jessica

Hey Polly and Brad!
Hope you are loving QLD, the summer in Perth is kickstarting and you should both be over here to join us at the beach nearly every weekend so far! BBQ's and after work drinks have been flowing thick and fast and everyone's started to bare their skin to the world after a chilly winter turned us all albino!
Hope all is well with you both - you should really get on Facebook y'know.
Love Meromie xx

Hey everybody, hope you're all well and stocking up on woollies for the winter ha ha!
We are just at the end of a mammoth journey from Darwin to Cairns. We're in a little place called Normanton today, its like going back 50 years here - very 'outback'. We got eaten by mossies last night and dive bombed by nesting magpies this morning, but besides that life is good.
We left Perth a month ago now, that was harder than we thought. We really loved it there in the end and giving up our jobs and apartment was a killer but the trip so far has been worth it. We went to Monkey Mia to see the dolphins and then stayed in Coral Bay for a few days snorkelling on the Ningaloo Reef. After that was Exmouth for more snorkelling and sunbaking on our private beach - we're still posh y'know.
Then we went to Karijini which is inland and full of the most gorgeous gorges - tell Becks we went george walking. The soil is so red there and gets everywhere, our feet still look very aboriginal!
Darwin was lovely, really small but plenty to do. We stayed with Carole who we met in Bangkok and she took us to Litchfield National Park and showed us all the good bars in the city - including a cayote ugly type place where we all danced on the tables - very classy! We also saw our first crocs here and Brad even fed them. We held the little baby ones too, I tried to steal one for Jake but they caughts us :(
Which brings us to sunny Normanton, where we're 6 hours from civilisation and surrounded by roadkill roos and wedge tail eagles. We're leaving here this morning and should be in Cairns by this evening. Its a 7 hour trip but apparently the scenery just gets better and better so we'll take lots of photos for your viewing pleasure!
Gotta go now before it gets too hot to travel, keep in touch y'all. Miss you all loads.
