My last two days in Hong Kong - so my best opportunity to fit in some retail and window shoppin gbefore I leave! This morning I had to go get the last of my travel vaccinations done, so I toddled off to the Prince's building. Luckily no side effects although I was a little wary of the whole process since half of the clinic was being renovated so it all resembled a construction site! In the afternoon Guy and I went over to Pacific place for some retail, a nice meal and caught a film in one the the nicest cinemas, just a bit over conditioned! We saw Horton hears a who - not bad but not a must see.
In the evening the Aherns got back and it was nice to spend some time with them and get ready for heading down to Oz.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty poor today so I abandoned the idea of going on the Star Ferry over to Kowloon for some last pics of the skyline after checking in town - so convenient1 Instead I went for a wander around the Botanical gardens in the mid levels, saw some nice plants and noisy macaws and parrots. I met up with Helena and Bel to do the peak tram ( I think they may have been a little embarrassed by being with such an obviious tourist since I was keen to take piccies!) We all had a nice lunch at the top of the Peak and the Peak Lookout restaurant before taking the walk down to the mid levels. Unfortunately there was so much mist it was pretty impossible to see anything further than a few metres away. I wandered back to Central through Western market which was a bit of ahock to the senses to be met with such pungent smells of fish bones and Chinese snacks after the clear air of the Peak. Then to the airport to check in . Hong Kong airport is actually more of an entertainment complex than a transport hub! It has a cinema, 4D screen and exhibition area, more shopping of course and numerous restaurants including a very large games arcade, so I easily passed some time!
Unfortunately the in flight entertainment didn't work, but 'no worries' coz I was nearly in Syndey!! ---->
