We checked out of the Hotel Beaugency in Paris on Wednesdy morning, June 19, and walked with our panniers to the École Militaire metro station. Our plan was to ride the the RATP "light purple" metro line two stops north to the Invalides station and then transfer to "mustard yellow" commuter rail line eastward to the Gare d'Austerlitz train station. There we were planning on catching the 9:27 SNCF train to Orléans.

However, the transfer required a long, convoluted under ground walk and we ended when transferring from the Metro to sncf commuter rail, we got on the wrong platform and went west instead of east. We got off after one stop and doubled back. We made it to Gare d'Austerlitz at about 9:22 but did not have sufficient time to go buy tickets to for the 9:27 train to Orléans. Fortunately, the LK and F families had similar navigational challenges, and we were all convened at the Austerlitz station at the same albeit late time together, and booked tickets for the 11:30 train to Orléans.
