| Monday, June 17, 2013 -- Paris, France -- Day 2, Part 3 |
We connected with the LK's and the F's at a restaurant called L'Angle du Faubourg, a couple of blocks off the Avenue Champs-Élysées in the eigth district.
It is nice to have the six kids at one table and the six adults at another. Like many places, the restrooms (les toilettes) are in the basement. The basement of this place also had additional seating and a cellar accessed by a ladder through a small hole in the floor where the kitchen and bar supplies were stored. It reminded me of a manhole access in the middle of a street. I would not want to be the guy carrying cases of tomatoes up and down a ladder.
We finished the evening off by walking down Avenue Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe and then climbing to the top of this famous monument for a view of the city at sunset, or at least the time of sunset -- this blog entry picture shows that it was rather cloudy.
It was close to 10 PM before we caught the metro to whisk us back to our hotel.
