well, seeing as i didnt really describe my first day, and i have nothing to do right now, i thought id do that now.
well, i had to get up at 8, which killed me, even though i usually have to get up at 7, but anyways, it could have been the jetlag. jean luc, my host dad, gets up really early, and leaves for work at 6.30!! i couldnt do that! we had european studies first, which is like history, but completely in english, which was good for me! they were talking about american civil rights movement, and the lady kinda expected me to know it all, but i really didnt have a clue! we had economics next, with einstein (ha ha), which was confusing, then we had history/geo, which wasnt too bad, we just had to label a map of the usa, the labeling wasnt bad, but hen they started talking about immigration or something, and where the most immigration happens, and stuff like that. then, there was spanish, which was excruciating, because usually in classes i can understand a few words, but in the spanish class i really didnt understand anything! not even a few words! although as i was sitting there, incredibly bored, i was contrasting both schools. in frensham, if we were given a mufti day, we would wear trackies, ugg boots, and look like tramps, but in this school, all the girls wear heels and HEAPS of makeup, eyeshadow, blush, everything!
we had lunch next, and you got bread, salad with yucky vinegar, youghurt, which they put sugar in (random!), and this disgusting meat, i dont even know what type of meat it was! i tried a bit, but mostly just ate bread, because it was safe. it was funny tough, because to get lunch you had to swipe a card, and i didnt have mine yet, so i set off an alarm!
after lunch we had a lesson wit the english assistant, sarah, who was from the usa, and we compared american, australian and french high schools which was really interesting.
when we got back to the house i all but collapsed on my bed because i was soo tired!!
