Today we had a whole free day in Budapest, which meant no provided meals, no pre-booked activities or anything. In other words...a sleep in! Today was another travel day where we drove for over 6 hours to get to Budapest. As soon as we drove into Budapest I knew I was going to love it there. It just had such an awesome atmosphere and such nice weather (sunny but not too hot). Today we explored more of Vienna. First we had a brief driving tour around the city which showed us a couple of the most famous sites. Included in these were the concert hall, St Stephens cathedral and the statue of Marie Therese. Marie Therese was the first roman empress and she's my new idol! Today we travelled from Venice to Vienna in Austria! As we passed the border the differences in landscape were amazing. Straight away the land morphed into massive rocky hills and indeed they did seem alive. For anyone who missed that, the sound of music originated from Austria and it was awesome to see the hills that inspired that famous song sung by Julie Andrews from the movie. Today we travelled to Venice! Venice is a part of Italy that is made up of about 150 tiny islands all separated by tight canals and joined by little bridges. It's like a maze in there and as a result, very easy to get lost. Nevertheless, Venice is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
