Hey everybody,
We arrived safely in Guilin after a few delays, around 24 hours after waking up in Brisbane. After a decent sleep the eating began in full force! We found yummy rice ball and chili cominbation things on the side of the road for 2 RMB (35 cents) and Alana managed to order an Almond Milk Tea in Chinese and it was delicious! (assisted by lacteeze)
The afternoon was spent wandering the streets and exploring the Seven Star Scenic Area where we climbed some of Guilin's famous peaks (Check out the photos).
We had a tasty dinner at a back alley restaurant eating some traditional local dishes. The total bill came to around $2AU, although we were undecided on what meat we were eating and happened to notice the "C" food grade rating (rated between A and C) on the way out... will keep you updated on the aftermath ;)
Overall a great start to the trip!

Andrea Looking good guys! Can't wait to hear more about the food :P
Mum/Maree I see you are wearing your jackets, what is the temp? Looks like Alana is putting her Mandarin study to good use! Hope aftermath of dinner all good! Nana says to say "Hi".
alana-and-aidans-excellent-adventure Photos are up! According to the weather man it has been around 7 degC... a tad cooler than the 35 degC we had in Brisbane a few weeks back. Our merinos and duck down jackets are serving us well! Say hi to nana - will try to get on Skype when we get some free time and a solid Internet connection :)
Alana Hey Andy, thanks for keeping up with us! Was thinking of you guys yesterday as we had our deep fried desserts of banana, yam, taro, durian and corn for only $AU1.60, Dylan would of loved it! Tell KG I've been abusing the Lacteeze, best milk drinks here! Miss you guys xo
