After another couple of nights in Granada Matt and I caught the shuttle back to Managua where we hopped on a bus for the Costa Rica border. The border crossing was again easy and without any problems apart from a long wait in que. It took about an hour to get through the border. We caught another bus now in Costa Rica to the beach town of Tamarindo, which has the nickname Tama-gringo. This town was made famous by the surf movie Endless Summer 2 and is now just full of Americans and resorts. The beach was nice, however nothing spectacular and was a typical central american pacific beach. The sand had black tinge to it due to the volcanic activity of the past. Didn't really do alot here but relax and had one big night out. Again ended up drinking at a small local bar which was open 24hrs a day, and crawled into bed after 8am. These long drinking nights are starting to take their toll on me. I am not sure how many more I can do.
Spent the other days here just relaxing in the hammocks and trying to keep the mosquitos at bay.
