The World Tour
Thought I´d document my general thoughts on Peru: - For some reason, even if you ask for a matromonial / double room you usually end up with twin beds - They rarely refrigerate any drinks, so I have come used to drinking them warm apart from the cold beer in Puerto Maldonado thank god! - Inka Cola tastes like Creamy Soda in Australia, and i liked it. - The lonely planet and other guides go on and on about the toilet system here but as long as you throw your toilet paper in the bin and don´t flush it, most are really good and i only used my own toilet paper twice. - Peruvians eat more bread rolls than any other nation and I am about to boycott them for at least a month. They are so cheap yet a loaf of bread is so expensive! - I saw the shortest non dwarf woman ever (in Cusco) - Lima wasn´t as dodgy as people make out. Sure, it was a s*** city but I didn´t feel unsafe. - Apart from a few stories of violence like one in Huaraz with a gun robbery on two poor girls on a path i was going to walk down one day. they even took their glasses and they got attacked by wild dogs! Anyway apart from that and a story about people having their stuff taken by a midget on a bus in a trap door I felt safe at most times. I´ll be back Peru!
