God, I can't believe i've written that whole blog the other day without even a mention as to the weather! Even hotter than Florida!! On the car thermometre as we drove down it measured 105 (45 c) to us! This level of heat kinda hits you in the face when you come out of the car or a restaurant or any other sheltered haven. Loving it though! Had to buy a higher factor though at the PX- my factor 8 tanning oil simply won't do.
Right anyhows, I missed a day so i'll fill you in in brief; my first whole day I spent (unsurprisingly) beside the outdoor pool lapping up the sun and reading one of Pennelope Gregory's latest offerings. Eric comes back early (2.30)pm ish and tells me that we can't have pets in the military hotel that they have assigned for us to live in. Can we change hotel? No, they say, unless you want to pay for it out of your own pocket. Negative ghostrider. This means we'll have to drive the kitties all the way back to mom's house in Florida at the weekend and they'll have to live there till we get permanant accomadation in Kansas in 6 months. Not good news, not least of all due to the fact that mom has a mahusive dog called Malaki who scares the s*** out of our two.
To cut a long one short- Eric uses his powers of persuasion and applies to the animal-loving side of the hotel manager directly. She agrees we can have the cats in the room providing we steam clean the room before we leave in 3 months. Ok. Sounds extreme but it beats any other option and we're assured this won't cost more than $300.
So we pack up (for the zillioneth time in the last month) and here we are- at the Sleep Inn. Avec swimming pool which is bigger than the last, a fitness centre and a ground floor suite which is in hopping distance to above facilities and breakfast room so i'm happy. There is no bar though which i'm slightly perturbed at but apparently this is not unusual.
I spend the day swimming and working-out. Oh, and checking out the local Walmart which sells everything, just everything. Thats in staggering distance too.
Well, best be off now as that fiance of mine has revision to do on aeromedical training and thus far he hasn't even cresased the opening page. He hates school. No s***.
Holla at y'all later!
