Den on the loose
Day 3 in Fiji (pay no attention to the above date)
Today we went to the Svu Sevu village this was our first activity for the day and our very first time we all wore our 'Sulu' which is Fijian for a sarrong.
Abel our guide took us into the village hall where he talked to us about the tradition and Fijian way of life.
After this on the way to the Wailotua Village i was appointed Chief which meant i had to lead my tribe that being the Feejee Experience posse into the village and then i had to sit opposite the Chief of the Wailotua Village for a formal Kuava ceremony, who i later found out use to play for the All Blacks in the 80's as a winger.
Kuava is made from a tree root that leaves a numbing feeling on your tongue like strepsils and makes you sort of trip out though i didn't feel anything the night before when i had copious amounts of the stuff as it is nice though people will tell you otherwise.
Anyway Carl a fellow Brit from London here in Fiji with his girlfriend Liz was appointed as spokesman for our tribe so he had to sit on my left side and make it know to the other tribe when ever i wanted more Kuava which was happened alot.
It was so bizzare being there but in a goodway as i walked in i had to sit directly opposite the village tribe with Carl on my left and then everyone sat behind and around us so were in the centre of the floor.
The ceremony started off with the village tribe members accepting our Kuava tree root and then the Chief blessed us and welcomed us into the village which meant we allowed to stay in the village if we chose to for one night.
Then came the Kuava as one of the tribe members stood up a with Kuava bowl in his hands he came over to me and as Chief i had to drink first and as Chief he gave me a'Mega-Tsunami' Bowl which was massive.
So the procedure for me before drinking the Kuava was to shout 'Bula' then clap once and then drink whilst the tribe members clap 3 times and then after i've downed the Kuava i had to clap 3 times.
The catch for my spokesman is that whatever i drank in tersm of size as there are 3 types; Low Tide, High Tide and Tsunami he had to drink the same and whenever i wanted more Kuava my whole tribe had to drink as well so you can imagine the faces of everyone when i wanted more.
After 1 Mega-Tsunami, 6 Tsunami's and 1 High Tide bowls of Kuava i got up to speak to the Chief but when i did the full effect of all the Kuava i drank the night before and at the ceremony hit me and i was staggering and a little bit zoned out and i swear there was someone below the floor pushing it up and down.
During the ceremony it started to rain buckets and we still had to our Billi Billi rafting to do which is basically rafting on bamboo shoots down a river. When we did actually get to the river for our rafting i was little spaced out but in good form to rock the place out.
Anyway we had a race and as i was Chief i couldn't let my team down and we won hurrah!!!!!.
That night we ended up at the Violi Violi resort where we stayed for one night and had crab racing, number games which involved some very suss sexual positions and a limbo competition which i initiated and guess who won.....
Yep thats right me the Limbo King a.k.a. Mc Flexi-Den though i had some damn hard competition in the form of the petite Norwegian Olympic figure skater Isabella who unfortunately came second.
That night was awesome and i havent got much time on this computer so byeeeeeeee
