So thanks I guess to a little jet lag, I was awake nice and early this morning and decided to check out the hotel gym. An experience within itself. Forgetting that the American still work on everything being miles etc rather than kms. Set the treadmill to the usual speed and couldn't work out why it started spinning so fast I had no chance of being able to keep up. Wondering how I could have got THAT unfit from not having been to the gym since back in the UK a few days before, I sat and pondered for a while. Then realising miles were a lot less than kms, I put the speed down and carried on.
Anyway, today was a very exciting day as we went for a walk down in Greenwich Village, which is where the building that is always featured on Friends is!! So yes, of course, I went to see it. Googled it to get the address, and came to it, only to stand and wonder what I was looking for. I felt sure, having watched the odd episode of Friends in my time, that I'd know exactly what it looked like. However, having stood studying my map for a little while, I notice soe tourists opposite us taking photos of the building which was above and behind me. Opps. Anyway, still wasn't totally convinced that was it as it was really small, but having filmed it and watched the film back am now convinced it was the one! Very exciting. Hopes of Jen being there reminiscing about the good old days, were sadly squashed. Still, there's always LA.
So we pottered around there for the day doing lots of shopping, it's soooooo cheap here?!
The evening was so much fun aswell though. I went out with Sue sister Jo, and her other half Mark. They took me to the coolest place. So the taxi dropped us at the funny little hot-dog cafe place, where Jo told me they deep fry their hot-dogs and wrap bacon around them. Kind of felt like Scotland, but funnily enough, still wasn't tempted so was wondereing what we were going to do.... Then Jo went into this little phone booth thing in the corner of the hot-dog place and I did wonder who she was calling, but then this secret little door opened up with other side of the phone booth. Very exciitng, and the cocktails were amazing! Hendricks gin and everything, oh and I got a rose petal in my cocktail. So that was so much fun!
