Stupid Technology
Sorry it has been a while since I have last posted something. The USB port on my camera is messed up so I'll have to figure out another way to put photos on my blog. Also, the last time I was on a computer at an internet cafe my photo card was completely erased by the stupid computer! Luckily, I had backed up with a CD a few weeks ago but I still lost 3 weeks worth of photos. So annoying! Stupid technology. Anyway, since the last time I posted something I worked for a week in a town on the coast called Caloundra. It was not very touristy at all which was nice to get away from the crowds. My work there included helping an elderly lady clean out some cupboards and clean her pool. She was so nice and she let Christian and me swim in her nice pool. We got to stay in a really nice house just one minute walk to the beach. It was really nice.
After the week working in Caloundra we traveled on to Noosa where we began our 3 day canoe trip. First off, I haven't canoed that much ever. Three days of canoeing is tough work. We did some hiking and lots of swimming. I was happy to meet a girl from Spain in the group so that I could practice my Spanish and for once in my trip Christian couldn't understand what I was saying. Usually we meet so many Germans that he gets to speak his native tongue and I have no clue what he's saying. The other people in the canoe group were mainly from Ireland and man could they drink. One girl drank so much that she fell over backwards at the picnic table. The river that we canoed on was so reflective that it looked like we were paddling over glass. It was a good experience but I think I've had my fill of canoeing for a while.
After canoeing we returned to Noosa, which was very touristy and therefore rather expensive. However, we found these great two for one ice cream coupons that made me smile. After Noosa we took the greyhound to Hervey Bay where we started a 3 day 2 night tour on Fraser Island, the world's biggest sand island. I saw some wild dingos (just wild dogs) and stayed at an aboriginal camp. I started to feel under the weather so I had to leave the island early. I'm feeling better now, but that island is no place to start feeling sick because it is so remote and hard to leave.
Today I head up to a town called Agnes Waters for 4 days to try surfing again and just relax. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care.
