A bit of free time, so a moment to update the blog! Sao Paulo is an extraordinary city! (of course, we would say that!) Our hosts are all very attentive and the GSE experience is exceeding the team's expectations. Visits directed at each team member's vocational objectives are in full swing! These have included time in a hospital and making a presentation on maternity care in the UK (Sarah), another school visit (Latefa), re-arrangement to visit a sports centre and a leisure parks marketing seminar (Janet), financial markets meetings and a day spent working in a restaurant(!!?-Laura).
We are adapting to "Brazilian time" ... when someone give you a schedule, this is only an indication of and what might happen, and when!
We've made presentations to three Rotary Clubs (RCSP) so far this week - Noroeste, Aclimaçao, Ipirituba ... And today we have RCSP Liberdade, and later visits to the Sao Paulo stock exchange, and to Estadao - one of the largest daily newspapers in Brazil.
Yesterday Sarah celebrated her birthday! In the evening we enjoyed a delicious 'bollo chocolate' with candles and Sarah was fêted with 'Happy Birthday' in both English and Brazilian versions!
Thanks to everyone who is leaving messages...these are much appreciated!
