The 'All the gear no idea' Tour

What was just an idle banter at a friends BBQ is now a daunting reality.December the 1st 2007 I, along with some other intrepid explorers; I leave these shores in search of Paris and then 5000 km later Dakar on the shores of Senegal. On an old BMW motorcycle just for the fun of it and try to raise money for two things, a charity called Jigsaw4u and for a small village school in the Gambia that we will visit after we get to Dakar. Jigsaw4u is a small charity that devotes its attention to helping children during bereavement. The village school is at 13.58333 Lat and -14.96667 Long a remote place called BrikanaIsland. We met the head teacher, Nfally Badjie, earlier this year and felt compelled to help.

The trip will take about 4 weeks. About 3500 miles give or take. I am hoping to raise some corporate sponsorship to help pay for the fundraising and extraordinary expenses for the expedition. In return the sponsor's logo will feature heavily on the bike, clothing tents and equipment and be photographed all the way to Africa. It can then be used in newsletters, advertising and web sites Individual supporters too can buy a tour Polo Shirt or just make a donation. We will be updating this site every chance we get during the trip with news of our progress and photos. I will be writing to everyone in the near future with more details. Many thanks Steve Coombe

If you would like to make a donation please make cheques payable to:

Jigsaw4U and send them to Ivory Security ATGNIT POBox 146 Edenbridge Kent TN8 9AU Many Thanks.

Training Trip Three

Only two of us out this time and I must say a fair modicom of success. A fantastic fast ride through the beautifull french country side. Then a suggestion of "a bit of off road practise" by my colleage. Not good. 100 yards in and we realise what a mistake has been made. We are so old and unfit. Made it back to blighty in one piece, just.… Read more »
