Internet here is 4,000 kip for ten minutes, and when anything costs that, you know it's too much...

Just dropping you all a line to keep you updated. I am now in the very south of Laos,about five miles from the Cambodian border, in Si Phan Don, or Four Thousand Islands, on Don Det, an island of the Mekong River Delta. There's not a lot here except island, river, huts and mosquitos so I can't see my stay being a protracted one.

The journey down was 'interesting' - all the way from Vang Vieng about 24 hours ago. I got the night bus from Vientiane - it was amazing! It held about 50 people, but we all had beds - a coach kitted out with bunk beds. I can't think of a better way to pass a ten hour bus journey, to Pakse. Then... minibus, boat... here I am. Phew.

I will update more when I have my thoughts together, and enlighten you further on choreographed group aerobics by the Mekong riverfront in Vientiane, and other 'Bearlao Beatz' highlights.

On to Cambodia in a couple of days.
