Singapore Night Sightseeing Tour with Bumboat Ride and Lau Pa Sat Wet Market

From: £15.05

Duration: 3 hours

Categories: Sightseeing, Cruises & Sailing

Spend a pleasant night touring Singapore by boat, bus and foot! During this nighttime tour, combine three adventures to see the best of the city. See the gorgeous bayside buildings reflected on the water as you travel by bumboat from Merlion Park to Marina Bay Sands. Then, stroll through the 150-year-old Lau Pa Sat wet market before hopping onto an open-top sightseeing bus with full audio commentary for a scenic ride through the city’s streets, ending at the popular Raffles Hotel. This tour is unguided and partially independent; a tour host will be on board the bus to let you know when the next segment begins.

You will be picked up by a double-decker, open-top sightseeing bus from the Raffles Landing Site, and your night tour of Singapore begins as you are driven first to Merlion Park to embark on a picturesque, 40-minute bumboat cruise on the Singapore River toward the Marina Bay Sands resort. See the wonderful city skyline illuminated at night as you pass scenic tourist areas like Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay, making your way to Marina Bay Sands, where you can admire its cascading hotel towers and floating crystal pavilions.

Upon disembarking, hop back onto the open-top bus and enjoy the drive to Lau Pa Sat, Singapore’s first wet market dating back 150 years. On your own, walk along the aisles and sample some of Singapore’s unique delicacies (own expense) such as roti prata (grilled flour pancake served with curry), laksa (spicy noodle soup), Hainanese chicken rice or chili crabs! Keep an eye on your watch and make your way back to the pickup location at the time pre-determined by your tour host.

Settled comfortably onto the open-top bus once again, it’s time for a fun-filled ride through the city. Listen to the informative onboard commentary in either English or Mandarin as you make your way to Chinatown, where you can hop off the bus to see the neighborhood’s old houses, which have been restored as shops that sell bric-a-bracs like plastic Buddha figurines and medicinal dried sea horses.

Hop back onto the bus for the final stretch, passing Orchard Road, a popular shopping enclave, on the way to the Raffles Hotel, one of the world’s most famous hotels, boasting a tropical garden courtyard, a museum and a Victorian-style theater. Your tour ends here, where you can spend the rest of the night as you wish. Don’t miss sipping on a Singapore Sling at the hotel; Raffles is famous partly for being the place where the cocktail was invented in the early 1900s.
