Tour Itinerary

This evening exploration of Melbourne by kayak is not to be missed. It’s a great way to not only get a feel for Melbourne but to also experience the city from a unique perspective. Kayaking si a great Melbourne day tour experience.

Melbourne’s Yarra River is an excellent location for novice paddlers to experience kayaking for the first time. No kayaking experience is needed to enjoy the tour; our patient guides will be with you every step of the way. Our Melbourne tourtakes place with a new fleet of extremely stable Sea Bear sea kayaks, the experience will be even easier for first-time paddlers.

The Yarra River has always been central to Melbourne’s history. In the early 19th century Melbourne was a remote colonial outpost and the Yarra River was a vital trade link for cutters and steamships. Melbourne’s birthplace was on the banks of the Yarra and today these banks are experiencing a new explosion of growth.

Our Melbourne kayak tour starts in Victoria Harbor, located in the Docklands. After a safety brief there will be an introduction to paddling techniques that will allow you to get maximum enjoyment from the tour. Get acquainted with your kayak as you explore the Docklands area before tucking into some tasty fish-n-chips, a special “on water” dining experience.

After our meal we continue our Melbourne kayak tour upstream, under the Bolte Bridge and through to Melbourne’s lively downtown. Kayak past swanky Crown Casino and alongside stylish Southbank. Paddle by iconic Flinders Street Railway Station and beneath historic Princes Bridge before arriving at the approach to Melbourne’s enormous sporting precinct.

Our Melbourne tourends at the boat landing area at Southgate, right in the heart of Melbourne, and directly across the river from Federation Square.
