Tour Itinerary

To start our Berlin tour, we head for the "Palace of Tears", where we learn the amazing story behind the name of this place. We visit the emotional sites where Jewish children were either rescue, or more often into deadly killing camps in Poland. Along the way, you will gain an insight and appreciation for Berlins’ Jewish heritage and past. We then visit the famous Humboldt University, which has been the place of study for more than 29 Nobel prize winners. There is also the iconic location of the book burning in 1933 where we learn more about this event and the story behind it.

We continue to the Museum Island with its astonishing world class museums, and see more of this UNESCO world heritage site. We discover the New Synagogue and hear the stories of "Reichskristallnacht”, or the Night of Broken Glass. Be ready for some great pictures, with the golden dome of the building a stunning Berlin travel picture moment. Continuing on our Berlin sightseeing tour, we walk to the grave of most famous Jewish philosopher, Moses Mendelssohn. After, we'll go on a journey to learn about an amazing man, a traditional baker bread baker during the war. In this bakery you will have the chance to sample a “Real-Berliner”. Part of this adventure is delving into some of the dark stories of the Jewish population in Berlin between 1933-1945, and find out whether the Germans have come to terms with this dark piece of their past.

As we walk some of the backstreets of Berlin with our experienced guide, we move through the backyards of tenement houses, where in times past thousands of workers lived here under horrible and trying conditions. Any Berlin travel experience is not complete without a very detailed and up close experience "The Wall". Being one of the few places it still remains as a symbol of the past, we uncover the reasons, emotions and stories behind why this place was so deadly before 1989. You will hear from our guide how the wall started as a barbed wire fence erected overnight, and evolved to its final incarnation as an advanced multi-wall system which came to be a potent symbol of the Cold War.

Through pictures, maps and original documents, your guide will give you a unique experience as you see the transformation Berlin has made. It’s truly makes this Berlin tour come alive!
