2012 marks the 150th birthday of Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, and this Vienna tour package allows you to see special exhibitions of his work, as well as explore Vienna with the Vienna Card, which offers discounts at attractions and restaurants across the city. Albertina:
From March 13 to June 10, 2012, the Albertina art museum will exhibit Gustav Klimt – The Drawings.The museum’s approx. 170 Gustav Klimt drawings, including work from all phases of the artist’s working life, are complemented by carefully selected loans from other collections.
Leopold Museum:
From February 24 to August 27, 2012, the Leopold Museum hosts Klimt: Up Close and Personal. This exhibition displays numerous items from the estate of Klimt’s partner, Emilie Flöge. Klimt’s work will be complemented by the lively correspondence from the master painter, who often sent his muse several picture postcards on the same day.
