Tour Itinerary

What better way to see the amazing ancient sites and countryside of Cusco than on two wheels? Get active and hop on a bike to discover the time-worn wonders and local flavours of Cusco with this urban adventure through history.

Start the day at imposing Puca Pucara, which acted as an important military and administrative centre during the Inca Empire. Walk past the terraces, walls and staircases as you learn about the history of this complex from your informative guide.

Next, get ready for the active part of the adventure by jumping on your bike and pedalling towards the archeological site of Qenqo. This place once acted as a ceremonial centre and significant place of worship for the Inca people. While many of the mysteries of Qenqo are yet to be unravelled by historians, it is thought that human and animal sacrifices may have occurred here many centuries ago. The amphitheatre and temple were used for public ceremonies and the network of steps, holes and canals were surely used to deposit and store maize. After spending time at this enthralling site, continue by riding to the Temple of the Moon, another interesting site full of mystery.

Peruse the rock carvings and caves here then enjoy a stunning panoramic view of discover Sacsayhuaman, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This wonderful example of ancient Incan architecture was once the location of a fierce battle between the Incans and Spanish, back in the 1500’s but may have also acted as a ceremonial site centuries before. Finish the journey by hopping on your bike and gliding downhill to the main square where fresh market produce awaits! Sample some traditional Peruvian snacks before saying farewell to your guide and group, as this is where this cycling Cusco tour ends.
