Included:
Return transfer to the guest’s hotel, water taxi fee, local tea at wooden café in water village.
Not included:
Items of a personal nature, tips or gratuities to the driver and guide.
Clothing:
Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.
Tipping:
If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides and drivers a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this tour
Notes:
The tour involves going up and down jetty and walking on wooden plank bridges.

Tour Itinerary

Start your Brunei travel experience by meeting your expert local guide at the hotel and transfer to the jetty in the city centre. Travel as the locals do and hail a water taxi and cross the river. On the other side is the Water Village Cultural and Tourism museum where you will be taken on a guided tour of the various galleries.

After this water village introduction, we continue our tour in Brunei by taking another water taxi ride to the water village. Along the way, see the lesser-known side of the Istana Nurul Iman, the biggest residential palace in the world.  The palace has up 1,788 rooms and is the official home of His Majesty, the Sultan of Brunei.

The next stop is Brunei Water Village, the largest of its kind in the world and a preserved national heritage site, and is a Borneo tour experience like no other. The village is home to 30,000 residents and has been around for over 1,000 years. Stretching about 8 km it is a self-contained community with schools, police stations, fire brigades and mosques. The village is actually a cluster of smaller villages, each with their own leader or chief, known as Ketua Kampung. The villages are connected by a complex web of walkways and bridges.

Take a Brunei walking tour of the water village and mingle with the locals as they go about their everyday lives. Be sure to stop and take tea at a café, the best place to really get to know the village and the people who live here. During the afternoon, the scene at the jetty bustles with life as school children and adults come home from work on water taxis.

Join the throngs of people and board a water taxi to return to the city and your hotel as you finish your ultimate Brunei travel experience.
