Blue Mountains Deluxe Overnight Eco Experience - Small Group

From: £508.40

Duration: 2 days / 1 night

Category: Outdoors

Leave the hustle and bustle of the city for the beautiful and scenic Blue Mountains. Visit the Featherdale Wildlife Park and hand-feed kangaroos and emus, see stunning mountain views and travel through historic towns. Stay overnight at Lilianfels and enjoy a morning of exploring the countryside at your own pace.

Day 1: Sydney to Blue Mountains (L)
Departing early from Sydney and traveling to the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, we make our first stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park, where you have the opportunity to get up close to the animals, stroke a koala and hand feed kangaroos, wallabies and emus.

Then head through the northern section of the Blue Mountains National Park, stopping at a number of spots for short walks and to enjoy the stunning views of these remote regions and learn about the flora. Enjoy a delicious morning tea at Bilpin before continuing through the historic town of Hartley Vale.

Lunch is in the heart of the Blue Mountains at the Katoomba Golf Club where you will enjoy a 2-course meal. After lunch you will visit Scenic World, where you can ride the Scenic Rail, the world’s steepest incline rail. The 415m descent will take you through a cliff side tunnel down into an ancient rain forest. From here, you are free to explore the Scenic Walkway which will guide you through the forest to the Scenic Cableway platform. Take the gondola for spectacular views of the Three Sisters and the rain forest. (The scenic railway and cableway are at your own expense)

The final stop of the day is the new Koomurri Aboriginal Centre where you will see a corroboree (traditional dance) performed and have time to explore the art and artefacts. Your overnight stay is at the beautiful five-star Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort, housed in a historic country house set amidst two acres of manicured gardens.

Overnight: Lillianfels Blue Mountain Resort

Day 2: Blue Mountains – Sydney (B)
In the morning there is more time at leisure to explore more great views, unique rock formations, deep canyons and ancient rainforests before being collected at approximately 2:00pm. We head down the southern section to enjoy a glass of chilled champagne or orange juice, before we depart the national park and return to the city.

While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

80%

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

100%

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.

Physical Rating
