Alarm was set for 5.45am ready for that early morning swim before we set sail away. Hmmmm...Emma and Jake saw 3 jelly enormous fishes...we decided against jumping in!
Back on the top deck sun loungers to read and take in again the beauty of the bay.
7am..Pho ga, egg, toast and fresh pineapple juice for breakfast.
7.30am.. Onto our bamboo boat again (this is clipped onto the side of the boat) and we make our way to Vong Vieng fishing village. On arrival, 5 minutes later we are each allocated our own rowing boat with our personal rower :-)
A village with only a population of 300 people. There is one school there and the kids learn to swim by the age of 5 so that they can take the boats themselves to school! A very pretty sight..very colourful and a very serene atmosphere compared to the fishing village we saw in Cambodia.
10am..back on board The Dragon's Pearl and some more time to chill out before an early lunch is served at 11am.
We thank the Captain and his lovely crew headed up by very efficient Phuk.
Cheers all round...
12.30...Back on dry land and a 4 hour drive back to Hanoi.
5pm...Bags swapped at Hotel to include new clean clothes. All a bit frantic!
Dinner at May Day restaurant, found on tripadvisor ,lots of locals and very yummy, especially the pork ribs with chilli and garlic. A no frills place but probably one of our cheapest yet (£20 in total for 8 dishes!)
About to leave for train to Sapa. Will arrive at 5am!!!
Again will be out of action for next 2 days..no wifi up in the mountains !
