Today we were up early to catch the Tranzalpine train from Cristchurch to Greymouth return. Another beautiful sunny day! Neat ride through the Canterbury Plains and the mountains in Arthur's Pass National Park. Lots of tunnels and bridges but not as spectacular as advertised! Lunch in Greymouth at The Wild Olive Cafe- an "A" both in taste and restaurant rating! Steve had the prawn trio and Pete the guerney fish. Sarah and I stuck to the old faithfuls-chicken burger and BLT. Had time for a quick geocache grab on the Greymouth floodwall before boarding the train for our return. Played Rook on the way back- S & P got thumped royally!! A relaxing day after driving yesterday. The full moon was huge and it is the closest it will be to the earth this year in NZ. Spent the night at Top 10 Holiday Park Cristchurch. Has delicious supper of fresh pasta and sauce we had bought at the market.
