After checking into Asakusa Vista Hotel in Tawaramachi, we walked for 2 minutes to the Tawaramachi Station and took the Tokyo-Metro Ginza line to Shibuya which costs us 230 yen each and it took us half an hour. We noticed along the way as we took more and more trains from the different lines that the couches in the train all have different themes according to their line colours. For Ginza it's brown. We thought of taking photo of all the colours of the train, but never mind...
We reached Shibuya at around 7.00pm and our task of the day is to look for a secret place, the Love Hotel, one by Paplaza and the other by Hotel Casa Nova. Love Hotels in Japan are famous for their fancy exterior designs and also for their 'quick getaways' for couples. Rates are per 3 hours or overnight. Surprisingly, the street is totally empty for the two hotels that we went to have alook and its really funny cos' we don't really dare to go in the first place. In the end we chose the Hotel Casa Nova due to its exterior and the more themed rooms that they have and we checked in to one of them for 3 hours.
They don't call it the love hotel for nothing. They have everything naughty and dirty which some people would call it, in the room. Everything from the toys to the movie rental but most importantly there is everything in the room. Seriously, I think that it is more equipped than an average hotel. dAr DaR decided to try on some cosplay costume for a mere 200 yen. But you can save up on this by running away when you check out, don't worry, we have tried and tested, shh... There's so many to choose from, so exciting ! Had a lot of fun taking photos as dAr's so kawaii ! People going to Tokyo can go there to have a look if they are daring enough. Do go, it's definitely an eye opener for couples going there.
After that we walked on the streets and settled on eating at the local Yoshinoya. The Yoshinoya here in Japan is so different from those in Singapore where it resembles any other fast food restaurant. This one is an old school ok ! Even their menu is different. They have more beef and pork in the menu and can you believe it, no chicken!! No fried whatsoever in the menu too. Another thing here, people in Japan often come in and eat meals alone so one seldom see seats in 2's or 4's or a round table around. Most of them are counter seats like the ones in Yoshinoya. (See photo
album!!)
The meal is great !! All the meals here in Japan are eye-openers. dAr DaR enjoys her meal too ! She's always smiling so happily. Got to see some Japanese Shuai Ge (Handsome Guys in Chinese) going in and out of the restaurant. By the time we're done it's already 9.20pm Japan Time. So we walked around the area, (nothing to shop here as the shops are too expensive) and went to the family mart which is something like Singapore's Econs Minimart to stock up on our lunch for tomorrow.
I couldn't take my eyes off the Bento Set section when I went in. All so Oishii looking !! They don't cost a bomb too. Erm, wait, I think they cost S$10 per set, a bit too expensive. But they are so prettily decorated and looks ever so tasty. Felt like buying everything from the shelves. I busied myself with the bento while my dAr DaR is busy looking at the chips and also her favourite red tea that she fell in love with the other time she came here. Saw Pizza-Kun here also. Nah, not my Japanese friend, but their famous pizza brand.
After our purchase, we took the half hour journey on the Ginza Line back to Tawaramachi where our hotel is. Tomorrow's a busy and hectic day for us. Do find out what we bought for our lunch. See ya!!
