The moment I stepped out of the airport, the cold air makes me shrudder. Super cold, as though I'm in the fridge. Even dAr DaR thinks it's cold. (Haha, not only me) So the moment we cleared the customs (we waited for the clearance for 1hour. They don't have enough counters there and it's only when they open new counters and we're on of the first few that it's faster), we rushed to the toilets to change to a thicker gear so that I won't die the moment I stepped out of the airport. Took this chance while dAr DaR is in the toilet dolling herself up to click away at the Panasonic Camera Fei's Mum so generously lend us.
Narita Airport is so nice too. Some of the discoveries I've made again.
1) Their Airport is so clean and simple.
2) They are so into recycling that they have a separate bin for every kind of material.
3) It's cold even in the airport.
4) Where are the school girls ? Oh ya, this is the airport not the school.
Soon, dAr DaR is armed with her pretty black coat and me with the Adidas Jacket I bought from Hong Kong and a blue scarf I borrowed from dAr's house, we're ready to conquer Tokyo.
Luckily the train station is only below the Airport which is totally convenient. Something is surprising to us in Japan. There is in fact a "Mama Shop" (Singlish for Small Convenience Shop) at the train platform for commuters to buy papers or food. So I think this also means that food consumption is also allowed in Japan? I think so cos' it's a FINE in Singapore for eating and drinking so with that the dustbins at the platform became extinct due to lack of 'food' aka rubbish like wrappers.
Another thing I liked about their train stations underground is the open concept. Even though it's more dangerous for kids but it's more cool. Something like the death note movie or many of the horror movie we saw. So cool and eerie.
We took the Keisei line from Keisei Narita to Keisei Ueno and it costs 1000 Yen for the 1 hour plus trip. Beware though of which one you take. Some trains stop at all the stations and those will take you easily 3 hours. Take the Rapid or express trains. Off we go to Ueno !!
