We spent two days this past week in Italian cooking school in Tuscany. The sisters, Paola and Simonetta, who run the school out of their centuries old farmhouse were amazing. They offer one or two day classes or a whole week of cooking. Additionally you can take Italian language and wine tasting classes. Toscana Mia was featured in a Budget Travel article from 2010, "Trips of a Lifetime". We agree! It's like spending a day with Strega Nona.

When all is said and done this will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable experiences of our travel. We made two amazing meals and enjoyed them with our teachers and their family. The funniest moment for me was when Paola told us her version of a simple meal, just take the bruschetta topping and toss with pasta for a cold dish. My mom said, "My idea of an easy meal is popcorn and Diet Coke." Paola gave her trouble endlessly for this.
On to the good stuff. Here were the menus...
Day 1:
Appetizer: Bruschetta
Primi: Tagliatelle Pomodoro
Secondi: Turkey Scaloppine in Balsamic (for Thanksgiving!)
Contorno: Roasted Peppers
Dolci: Panna Cotta with Dark Chocolate
Day 2:
Appetizer: Pizza
Primi: Shells Stuffed with Tuna and Olives
Secondi: Osso Bucco
Contorno: Fagioli al Fiasco
Dolci: Tiramisu
Bubba would have been proud!
