Morning...
It's Monday morning and an exciting day in Australian politics. Last week, K Rudd, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, challenged the Prime Minister, J Gillard, for leadership of the Governing Party. Today, the caucus voted and the Prime Minister won 71 to 31. It just so happens that the vote this morning coincides with the Academy Awards... Making for lots of interesting TV!
Afternoon...
Once all of the TV drama was over, we went for a walk across Main Beach, Convent Beach and over the headland to Pipi Beach. On the way, it started to rain and I managed to slip, fall and bruise my knee on some rocks... At least I used my knee as a landing pad instead of my head!
While at the headland, we watched some dolphins play in the water. Marc went in swimming to try to play with them but they were more interested in the surfers.
After a nap,we headed into town for an ice cream - yum! We are now taking it easy before we cook supper... Our last supper in Yamba. Tomorrow we will be heading back toward Sydney and camping at South West Rocks, as per Duncan's recommendation. Finally we get to use the tent that we carted with us half way around the world!
Animal Tally to Date...
Lots of kangaroos, lots of dolphins, a wallaby, some rabbits, lots of sea crabs, a giant spider (that was living on our car!), sea turtles, a cane toad, a giant green tree frog, a few cockroaches (eek!), a few fish, bats, a pelican, and lots of exotic birds, the most beautiful of which live on Sanda's balcony.

Jean No sharks? Are the cockroaches really big?
Kathryn Hughes Looking forward to pictures of all of these exotic animals! ( not the cockroaches) Sorry to hear you bruised you knee Natalie, but much better than your head! Sounds like you are having lots of interesting adventures and time to relax as well! Love, Mom and Dad
